Me: How did you get inspired to make an EP as unique as “New Life”?
ninemansion: I was heavily inspired by a relationship that had recently ended, and that was the main theme of the EP, heartbreak and finding your true self because of it.
Did you draw inspiration from any specific genres or artists for this release?
No, not in particular
And, how would you describe your overall current style of music? Has it evolved over time?
I would describe my current sound as very futuristic. Some of my songs are based off experiences that I haven’t had yet, but I am still able to use those experiences to create timeless art. I look at it as my future self inspiring my younger self to create music I would love in the future.
What themes or messages do you hope listeners take away from “New Life”?
I hope listeners can relate to my music and lyrics and can understand and feel the stuff I felt when making it.
That’s real, man! Furthermore, what was the most challenging part of the recording process?
Nothing was particularly challenging when I created these songs; everything flowed so naturally that it felt fated.
Where does your stage name originate from? Has it ever changed in the past?
My stage name is inspired by the Streetwear brand number nine, with that being my favorite brand, and the nine also comes from September being the month my last relationship started, and that played a big part in the person I am today and will be in the future. The mansion part is inspired by Che. (ripmansion)
Any upcoming releases or plans that you're comfortable sharing with the readers?
I plan to release my Debut album “My Favorite Stranger” at the end of this year. 21 tracks all inspired by Heartbreak and a past relationship that ended in nothing but silence.
And finally, in your own words, why should a new listener check this EP out today?
I think they should give it a listen because they may relate to it or went through a similar experience.
