Lexi Lemonade Delivers A Stunning Performance Director’s Cut Of "Cinema"
Bloomfield songstress Lexi Lemonade is today’s featured artist, who just recently dropped her one-of-a-kind new single “Cinema” this summer. Be sure to also grab this record on Vinyl as well, as she just debuted those too last week on August 12th. “Cinema” is an experimental, dramatic, and sultry record that feels more like an immersive experience than a typical song. Her writing incorporates storytelling elements, with a chorus that leaves a strong impression and a song structure that breaks traditional rules. These elements serve to further emphasize Lexi’s bold artistic choices. Serving as the final act in a three-act trilogy, it carries a natural sense of climax and closure. Vocally, Lexi sings with a smooth, laidback, and seductive tone that allows the production to shine without overwhelming it. The instrumental is particularly striking, opening with powerful strings and choir textures. It blends industrial sounds with a futuristic edge, and grounds everything with traditional hip-hop drums & a fluid bassline that ties the experimental elements together. However, the mix could use refinement to bring more clarity to both some of the vocals and the layered samples. But outside of this minor critique, I believe “Cinema” is a song that stands out for being distinctly unique & innovative in the current music climate.
