Prience Moore Reveals The Details Behind His New Single “What Would You Do?” & More

Intro:

Prience Moore is an artist hailing from the PNW who just released his brand new single “What Would You Do?” on Valentine’s Day. Born & raised in Michigan, Prience has been on a stellar run of quality releases. The Seattle-based lyricist shines best when incorporating real-life stories & experiences into his songwriting. This new song is a perfect example of this trait, as the lyrics were inspired by deep interaction with a longtime friend. Before reading our brief conversation, make sure you check out this new track below.

Me: What was it like making this new record, “What Would You Do”? How'd you get inspired?

Prience: What Would You Do” was inspired by a deeply personal conversation with a lifelong friend.

Nice! And as far as your sound, how would you describe it to someone who’s never heard it before? Has it evolved over time?

All my songs, I believe, have universal appeal because of one unique quality, relatability. We all have gone through stressful relationships or know someone who has. You may not like my voice, or you may not like the beat, but there is no denying the lyrics, IMO.

I think you can definitely hear that reflected strongly on the new single! What made you choose the title “What Would You Do?” as the title?

Simplicity, the title fits the narrative and I try not to ever stray from that.

What proved to be the most challenging part of the creation process?

This may have been the easiest song I've ever written. I let the lyrics come to me. If the words don’t flow naturally, then I know it’s not a song I should be writing. These lyrics flowed like a faucet; I still get a drip every now and then.

Excellent! Always got to tap into that flow state when it appears. From there, any hobbies or interests outside of music that fans may not expect?

When I'm not writing, I try to get a lot of golf in in the summer. Most of the winter is spent indoors learning new instruments.

Was there a specific moment when you realized music was your calling? Or was it a natural progression?

I always like to sing, whether in the church choir or just over songs on the radio. I didn't have the opportunity to do it early in my life, so I'm taking advantage now.

That’s very powerful! Additionally, do you have any other upcoming releases or plans that you're comfortable sharing with the readers?

"What Would You Do" just dropped on Feb 14, gonna let this one ride for a while before I release another.

And finally, in your own words, why should a new listener check out this new release today?

It's not a love song, it's not a feel-good song. It's a song about reality and relationship consequences. If you ever been in a relationship and felt "I can relax now, I already got him," then think again. Whatever you did to get her/him, you should always continue to do to keep them, IMO.
