For today, we have New Zealand artist Ro.wav & his new single “It’s a Great Day” are featured in the song review article below. This track delivers a fun, feel-good experience with some serious 2016 vibes. Ro.wav floats over the production with ease while showcasing a bouncy, melodic rap flow that keeps things entertaining throughout. The chorus is especially catchy, as it gets stuck in your head by the second listen. Meanwhile, his descriptive songwriting does a great job of creating vivid imagery. I also appreciate how he incorporates introspection and stream-of-consciousness writing into an otherwise carefree record that balances these reflections with flexes about money, hustling, and women. Vocally, his melodic approach, punch-ins, stutters, and ad-libs help establish a unique sound. The beautiful piano melody and instrumentation pair perfectly with fast trap drums, rattling hi-hats, and smooth 808s, creating an enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, “It’s a Good Day” sounds exactly how a good day should feel for any young person into this style of melodic rap.
