Me: How did you get inspired to make an album as unique as “Proceed 2”?

Kennard: The creative process was fun. Recording this album just being authentic & telling a story in my music. What inspired me is the love I have for music. It just makes me happy

Did you draw inspiration from any specific genres or artists for this release?

I love old school music. The old music hits the soul

And, how would you describe your overall current style of music? Has it evolved over time?

Yes, songwriting has evolved. The way I look at life has evolved as well.

What themes or messages do you hope listeners take away from “Proceed 2”?

Proceed to keep moving forward through the good days and bad.

That’s a great message! What was the most challenging part of the recording process?

With my aunt passing 3 years ago and my uncle passing last year was tough, but I gotta keep going.

 

Wow, I respect your dedication so much! Also, where does your stage name originate from? Has it ever changed in the past?

(lol) Well, my real name is Kernard, but at birth they changed it to Kenard. I put two ends in my name so people can say it correctly.

Additionally, do you have any upcoming releases or plans that you're comfortable sharing with the readers?

Performing more writing for a new artist in Cali. Shooting new videos down the road.
